Recently
retired, after many years with the Canadian Coast Guard: first as a Radio
Operator at Halifax Coast Guard Radio/VCS (Ketch Harbour), then Marine
Search & Rescue Support Officer at the JRCC Halifax, and then
an MCTS Officer (Marine Communications and Traffic Services). No more 12
hour shifts!
Hoping that many of the old timers from the Maritimes will be able to have
a reunion of sorts some time soon. This site contains some info and
memories from ancient and recent history...

I've been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1969. Early on, I
worked the world with an old Heathkit DX-100 transmitter & an RCA AR-77
receiver - mostly CW and AM. Then I used a Swan 500CX for a number of
years. Plus, a number of 2 meter rigs. But, had to put it all on the
back-burner for quite a few years...Currently using a Yaesu FT-857D - 100
Watts into a homebrew "all band" OCF Windom inverted-V dipole. Finally
back on HF SSB, CW - also 2 meters and 70 cm. Nice to be back on the air.
God is good!
Best bent wire, everyone!
