1987

In late October, friends and colleagues gathered at a reception in honor of Vince Hill (left), Director General, Telecommunications Policy Branch, who announced his retirement from the public service earlier that month. Vince worked for the Department for the past 15 years. Deputy Minister Alain Gourd presented Vince with a set of Olympic coins as a gift from his co-workers and Bill Musgrove, Chief of Staff, presented him with a retirement certificate signed by the Prime Minister, in appreciation of his years of work in the public service. Richard Stursberg (right), ADMTT, was also on hand to participate in the ceremonies and to add his compliments and best wishes. Vince will be spending the next several months in England and in Spain, but intends to return to Canada in the spring, perhaps to resume work in the telecommunications field....
