Ken passed away peacefully at age 87 on
January 19, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by Kay, his wife of 51 years,
nephews Bill Steele (Bobbie), Barry McDonald (Nok), Doug McDonald (Iris),
niece Leanne McDonald and Brian, CJ and Devon Greenside. Ken was predeceased
by his sister Connie Steele.
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC,
Ken worked as a radio operator and inspector in a
career spanning 43 years for the Department of Communications.
Ken and Kay shared a love of square dancing
and were active in the square dancing community for many years. Ken was a
local caller and loved nothing more than to teach new dancers. He will be
remembered for his quick wit, genuine love of people and his adoration and
devotion to his beloved wife. He will be dearly missed by his family and all
their lifelong friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest
heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Harrison at ELIM Village for their
warm and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation
in his memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
