Retiring after 35 years of
service was Harold H. McLean, radio
technical officer in charge of
maintenance of aeradio and marine
services at Moncton.
Mr. McLean was born at
Grindstone, Magdalen Islands, and
obtained his certificate of
proficiency in radio telegraphy at
Halifax in 1919. He served in fishing trawlers with the Canadian Marconi Co., joining the Department of Marine and Fisheries in 1926.
In 1930 he was promoted
to radio technician and served for
many years in the former East Coast
marine radio district office. In 1956 he was transferred to Moncton when the air and marine radio services were amalgamated.
