came across your website and found my Grandpa was listed! There was so many
memories I have of him telling us all about his time in Resolute Bay. And the
polar bears. He recently passed away he was just shy of his 97th birthday!

Here are some pictures of my grandfather's time as a radio operator in the
arctic!! He was a avid photographer and took MANY photos! The only thing I
wish is there was more context written for each picture. The last several
years of my grandfather's life he battled with Alzheimer's. But one thing he
NEVER forgot was the Morse code. Occasionally you would hear him verbally
doing Morse code.

is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Basil
Meredyth Parsons on Monday October 2nd, 2023, in his 97th year. Basil was
predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Vera, in 2013.
