Vernon Robert Stroud

Was a DOT Radio Operator and Radio Technician. Was a Radio Inspector in the Kitchener office of DOC/IC.

Était opérateur radio et technicien radio du DOT. Était inspecteur radio au bureau de Kitchener du DOC/IC.

Vern Stroud joined the Department of Transport as a radio operator. He was posted to the Joint Arctic Weather Stations, initially to Resolute Bay, but in October 53 he was posted to Isachsen, NU  as a temporary replacement when Norm Weiss was there.

From 1959 he was at North Bay where he stayed for 2 1/2 years with Frank Ryan, Ed Hancock and Frank Gushue,  then to Toronto as a technician. I don't know when he moved to the Kitchener office as a Radio Inspector, but he was there for some years and retired there.

In his retirement he was active in amateur radio with the call sign  VE3RVS and was a Chief Examiner for people taking the amateur radio licence examination.
